Hello I've been having a pile of fun creating designs for my course The Art & Business Of Surface Pattern Design. The great thing about this course is that you don't have to keep up with everyone and you can go at your own pace. Awesome! At the end of week four we had a fun exercise: to create a scarf. The theme is 'Celebration' and it needed to be suitable for a high end 30 - 40 years woman. O.k. What does celebration mean to me. When I honestly thought about it, the most amazing way to celebrate would be to ride a horse flat bicky on the beach! So I had my idea! I opened a favorite image of my favorite beach { on Bribie Island, Queensland} in Photoshop and got to work... Great! Now I added the horse and gave him a shadow to make it more realistic. Quick change to black and white. The placement of motifs... Hmm. I think this needed something more so I had a play around with the effects in photoshop {and using all the amazing skills that I'm learning from Rachel Taylor in the course} and added some more objects to create further interest. ...And tadaaaahhh. Here is my celebration scarf. I'm really happy with how it turned out! This scarf is for the Individual Woman. She knows who she is and where she's going. She might be celebrating marriage or the birth of a child. Maybe she's started her dream career and is finally doing what she loves! New horizons. Celebrate! Hope you've enjoyed a sneak peak into my amazing studies in Surface Pattern Design. Holy moly this course is the best thing I've done! See you soon Hi There! Nice to see you again *big smiley face I have been waiting and waiting for this to begin and now.... For the next year I'll be studying The Art and Business Of Surface Pattern Design with Rachel Taylor. Yay!! For a while I'd been researching the best surface pattern design courses and I can honestly say this is simply the best value for your money and time. I considered both in person and online courses. Check out this creative online course on this link.... Do what you love for life. No I'm not affiliated with them. I just really love this course! Here's some images of the work I've been creating... This design course is sooooooo inspiring! In week one we are learning how to get to a design outcome through outlining and deconstruction of motifs that we draw. I've found it very easy to study online and there's lots of support from the students and teachers. And it's ok if you don't keep up on a daily basis. It seems like we all have commitments etc and we all get to doing the exercises when we can. I wake up every day so excited to start drawing and working on my designs!! Seriously if you'd like to learn more about this course I really urge you so much to check it out!! You'll be so happy you did! See you soon with more news! XOXO |
